Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and dark forces growing in strength within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and presented the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), Wicander Halovar (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was evident from the start that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Warriors, Schemers, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear out of place, but the developments of the latest installment make it clear why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and taking all the enchanted items to auction.
Casimir then paid off his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the northern region, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the companion and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer knows Timmony and cautions that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the powerful family could assist the group access places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that govern the setting for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.

According to episode three’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight participants to assemble the Questers and Planners tables.
